I realize that even though I have children and grandchildren of my own, they live far from me. I also realize that there are a lot of young people who live near me, and to whom I want to be connected in some special way. I am willing to admit that there are many generations in front me to whom I can relate not as a peer, but with an inter-generational relationship. People like to be connected. I realized that when I told people that they could call me Bubbie, there was a special infusion of mutual caring. The relationship branched out and took new roots.

"The Green Bubbie" is not a self-help book. This is a book about self-sharing. I'm not telling anyone how to live. I'm telling you how I live, and I'm interested in how you live. I'm offering a model of sharing one's best self with those who are growing all around us.

I know I'm not the only Green Bubbie. Chances are you may be one too, because you too have a lot to share.
